Healthy Schools
Ruskin Junior School is committed to being a ‘Healthy School’. Through gaining and maintaining Healthy Schools Status, we involve the whole school community - parents, governors, staff and pupils - in improving children's health and happiness and helping them to get the most out of life and reduce inequalities.
We revisited our Healthy Schools audit in 2024. Colleagues considered the school ethos and evaluated our work in the areas of: healthy eating; PSHE; physical activity; emotional health and well-being. As a result, some related policies have been updated and included in the policies section of this website.
In partnership with families, our intention is to equip pupils and staff with the skills and attitudes needed to make informed decisions about their health. Investing in health and well-being is known to raise achievement and improve opportunities and so we must continue to develop our Healthy Schools work.
